We have used three main Romney rams in our flock. These rams have never butted us nor shown any aggressiveness to any of our family. They are true gentlemen for the shearer, despite their size. We select for a good size, temperament, and lambing percentage, and growth. See the 'For Sale' page or contact us for young rams available.
Kirk is our new ram. He is a large, long ram with beautiful, crimpy wool. His wool maintains a nice crimp over the whole fleece. We purchased him from Margie Meehan of Iowa and he is the son of the 2001 National Champion Romney Natural Colored Ram from the Bullock farm. Kirk
We were fortunate to find "Barry," a Lynn Barnes ram born 2-6-97. Lynn Barnes is a Romney breeder from Oregon who has been importing New Zealand Romneys since the 1960s. Barry did a great job with his first crop of lambs here this spring, with a total lambing season of 20 days, including ewe lambs. Barry's previous owner reports his daughters are good twinners, with some having triplets as well. While I'm not too interested in triplets unless Mama can raise them, I'm always happy to see more twins. Barry also has a very nice fleece. Barry was replaced by Kirk in 2004. Barry
Caspian was our first Romney ram and made a huge difference in our flock. We started out with a variety of ewes, but Caspian's daughters have a nice uniformity to them. They are good lambers, clean faced, and have a good temperament. Caspian was born 3-24-99. Barry was Caspian's replacement in 2002. Caspian
